Politicking In The Classroom

Since Senate Bill 5 was introduced, school districts have been faced with complaints about teachers politicking in the classroom.  In fact, the OEA has encouraged teachers to raise this issue in the classroom, calling it a “teaching moment.”  The board of education is not without remedy of this situation.  In most classrooms, Senate Bill 5, labor negotiations, union activities, etc., are not part of the planned curriculum.

Teacher’s Wrongful Termination Claims Dismissed

On February 23, 2011, Judge Dennis Langer of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas issued a ruling dismissing the claims of a former Dayton Public Schools teacher who brought sexual harassment and intentional tort claims against the school and two school employees.
