Melissa joined S&W in 2002. Initially hired to work on Scott-Pontzer cases, she currently works in insurance defense litigation in state and federal court. She is particularly adept in handling detailed cases involving medical, mental health, wrongful death, and employment claims. Melissa is experienced in obtaining public records and conducting personal and background checks. Prior to entering the legal field in 1988, Melissa attended nursing school in 1984 and worked in the medical and insurance fields in Ohio, Florida, and Connecticut. She has also worked in criminal, domestic relations, real estate, bankruptcy, and probate areas of law, as well as handling payroll, taxes, AR/AP, and office management. In 1994, she received her Associate of Applied Science in Legal Assisting degree from Sinclair Community College. Melissa completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management in 2001, which she received from Antioch University McGregor, now known as Antioch University Midwest, in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
